What to expect

Meet your guide at your local train station — they’ll be with you throughout the entire trip.

You’ll also meet a representative from Platform Rail, who will share useful information about travelling by train.

Once you arrive at Bristol Temple Meads, you’ll take a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) to the ferry stop.

Travel by ferry into Bristol city centre and enjoy the views along the way.

The group will then split into two smaller groups (maximum 18 people per trip):

  • One group will board SeaCycler — Bristol’s recycled plastic fishing boat — and head out onto the water to help collect litter from the harbour.

  • The second group will explore the harbourside on foot with their guide, collecting litter before it can be blown or washed into the water.

Afterwards, the groups will swap activities so everyone gets to experience both parts of the day.

Stop to eat your packed lunch (depending on the timing of your trip)

At the end of the clean-up, you’ll sort and weigh the collected litter for recycling so the findings can be recorded and reported.

You’ll then travel back to the train station by ferry before beginning your return journey home — hopefully feeling proud of the difference you’ve made and the adventure you’ve had.
